Transphobic murder.

Last night, a trans*woman, Brandy was murdered on the streets of Oakland. She was killed in cold blood at 13th and Franklin. After an altercation with a man, he found out she was Trans*, and shot her. She was kept alive for as long as possible by a member of Occupy Oakland who had received street medic training. I am so glad he was there, because as she laid in the car that she was shot in, as he held the wound and gave her CPR, the cops just stood there. The aforementioned cops arrived almost thirty minutes after the call had been placed, despite the fact that this was a very violent crime that happened blocks away from the police station. They just stood there, watching her die as it took the ambulance roughly an hour to arrive. She was dead before the paramedics even arrived. These “First Responder” police just stood there, and then walked away.

Everyone who thinks cops are good-They aren’t.

Everyone who thinks they can call the cops when you need help-You can’t.

Everyone who thinks cops care about you- They don’t.

The cops don’t fucking care. They don’t care, they HATE anyone queer, of color, female bodied, trans*people. They want us to die. They want us to suffer. They want to hurt us.

Anyone in the bay area- I am doing my best as of now to set up a safety network for everyone who feels targeted, or unsafe in this city, in this area. I want to make it so that you can call the number, and someone will meet you to walk wherever you are going and help you feel safe. I want a network for the women, for the queers, for the trans*, gays, lesbians, persons of color.  If you want to help, shoot me a message.

Stay safe out there, please.

It’s cold in Oakland when you have to walk everywhere and the sun is down I tell ya!

This is what January 28th was for me. I was front lines, with a shield. I have a gold bandana on, and stayed front and strong the entire time. I know that even though 400+ of us were arrested, attacked, terrified we will only come back stronger, more organized, and better protected.

Join us, in body, in solidarity, in helping people get out of jail, any way you can.

So I may have spent the past 30 some odd hours in jail but I did make the front page of USA Today.
More on my experience when I have actually slept.
Fuck all cops.
